WHAT IS AN AIR AMBULANCE?
An Air Ambulance is a dedicated aircraft specifically configured for patient transport. 247 Aviation has a fleet of these aircraft, fully equipped with specialised monitors and medical equipment. Each aircraft is staffed with fully trained and licensed medical personnel.
HOW QUICKLY CAN 247 AVIATION ARRANGE AN AIR TRANSFER?
We can generally arrange for an air ambulance and make flight preparations within three hours.
The factors that determine how quickly an aircraft can be dispatched include aircraft and crew availability; overflight and landing permissions; passport and visa requirements and whether a specialist bed is available at the receiving hospital. Most air ambulance transfers can be scheduled to take place within 24 hours.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
247 Aviation Air Ambulance Service uses only the best and latest air-portable medical equipment including a bespoke and comfortable stretcher system as well as the latest generations of complex-care equipment such as multi-modal monitors, ventilators, syringe drivers, bedside laboratory analysers, ultrasound imaging devices, orthopaedic equipment and all the consumables and medications that are necessary to treat and manage the most complicated of critically ill patients.
CAN A LOVED ONE ACCOMPANY ME ON THE AIR AMBULANCE?
If the circumstances allow, there is often capacity on board for one travel companion to accompany a patient during the flight. The final decision always rests with the medical crew on board the air ambulance.
HOW MUCH BAGGAGE CAN I TRANSPORT ON THE PLANE?
Passengers traveling with patients are allowed one small carry-on item per person.
WHAT ITEMS ARE ALLOWED OR RESTRICTED FOR TRANSPORT ON THE PLANE?
Our travel restrictions are in accordance with the departing airport’s rules and regulations.
